PREP ROUNDUP: Tiger Cub tennis rolls past Owen Valley, 4-1

Greencastle defeated Owen Valley 4-1 on Thursday evening in boys’ tennis action.

Sean Ramey won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Tiger Cubs, while Trent Ross won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Luca Magni won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Greencastle’s No. 1 doubles team of Nate Hensley and Anthony Conley won its match 7-5, 6-3.

Henry Carter and Micah Hammond of Greencastle fell 4-6, 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.

The Cubs play at Danville today.

Soccer

• Greencastle 8, Edgewood 0 — The Tiger Cubs scored four goals in each half to record the win.

Goalkeeper Claire Gillen had nine saves and Ashlynn Guyer had one save.

Erin Thomas scored four goals, while Kennedy Trigg had two goals, Sydney Anderson earned her first goal of the season and Sydney Doan had one goal.

The team is looking forward to its WIC crossover game at home today against Cascade at 1 p.m.

Volleyball

• Monrovia 3, Greencastle 0 — The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-19.

The Cubs were led by Maggie Meyer with 19 digs and Jayln Duff with 11 digs and 16 assists.

Ivy Wright and Allison Stevens both had four kills.

• Northview 3, South Putnam 0 — The Eagles fell to Northview in three sets with the scores of 10-25, 12-25, 6-25.
