Betty Angela (Watson) Ranard passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 1, 2017 at Summerfield Healthcare in Cloverdale, at the age of 76.

She formerly resided in Indianapolis, Rockville and Quincy.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Whicker) Erman; grandson Daniel Erman; and son-in-law David Erman, Springtown, Texas, as well as niece Carolyn Dieck Schilling and nephew Tommy Knoche, Indianapolis, and her friend and ex-husband, Paul Whicker of Cataract.

Betty was preceded in death by spouse Wayne Ranard, Indianapolis, and spouse Pastor Billie Smith, Indianapolis, siblings Robert Watson of Marion,

James Dieck of Indianapolis, and Ruth Blair of Paducah, Ky., foster parents Forest and Marjorie Smiley of Cloverdale, and parents Omar and Mary Watson.

Betty attended Quincy and Cloverdale schools.

She had been a member of the Millgrove Methodist Church in Quincy, South Side Apostolic Assembly in Indianapolis, and Westminster Presbyterian in Indianapolis.

Betty worked as a nurses' aide for Donna Nursing Home, Cloverdale, and as a caregiver in Indianapolis in both nursing home and home care settings.

Funeral services for Betty will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from noon until service time.

Burial will follow in Quincy at Combs Cemetery.
