PCPL offering October classes

The Putnam County Public Library will be offering three computer classes on Oct. 6, 13 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at PCPL.

The classes being offered are lectures instead of PCPL’s usual hands-on classes and are designed to introduce patrons to the Internet.

-- Friday, Oct. 6: “Introduction to the Internet” will introduce patrons to search engines, browsers and some of the best websites on the internet.

-- Friday, Oct. 13: “Safety and Security on the Internet” will discuss safeguarding your privacy and keeping your computer and information secure while using the internet.

-- Friday, Oct. 20: “Introduction to Cloud Computing” will intoduce patrons to cloud computing, demonstrate free cloud software from Google and Microsoft, and explain why cloud computing is the way the world will be using computers in the future.

All classes are for beginners, free and open to the public. Classes are two hours long with a break.

Registration is required since space is limited. View the library website at pcpl21.org, call Mike Acsbok at 653-2755 ext. 118 or stop by the circulation or reference desks at the library.
