County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 10:43 a.m. Roger Patrick Lopez, 47, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

• At 4:02 a.m. Michael Scott Lawler, 56, Terre Haute, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

City Police

The Walmart supercenter parking lot was the scene of a recent two-vehicle property-damage accident, Greencastle City Police officers reported.

• At 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, a mishap occurred as Megan Lavely, 29, Greencastle, was pulling into a parking space in a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox.

Officer Zach Rhine reported the Lavely understeered and her vehicle struck the rear bumper of a parked 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck owned by Richard Perkins, Frankfort, damaging the rear bumper on the driver’s side of the truck.

The Equinox sustained damage to the passenger’s side of the vehicle, rear bumper and tail light.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

One traffic citation was issued recently by city officers.

• At 2:55 p.m. Thursday, Kory Dirikson, 25, Reelsville, was ticketed by Officer Matt Huffman.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road near the Kroger entrance, Dirikson was cited for an unsafe start.
