Police search for leads in Cloverdale shooting

CLOVERDALE — Investigators are working on limited information as they search for the perpetrator of Friday-night shooting in Cloverdale.

At some point after 11:30 p.m., Tim Parrish Jr. was shot three times outside his Stardust Hills residence on Lazy River Road.

The shooter is reportedly a white male about 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 who was wearing all black.

He fled from the scene following the incident.

That is just about the extent of what detectives know for sure at this point.

“We don’t have any sort of description of a face,” Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Detective Doug Nally told the Banner Graphic.

Cloverdale Police were initially dispatched to the scene, but the sheriff’s department and Indiana State Police were soon called to the scene as well.

Detectives from PCSD and ISP lent a hand, while ISP also had an evidence technician on the scene.

Personnel from all three departments remained in the area until 6 or 7 a.m., following up on leads and reports of possible sightings, but to no avail.

Nally, who is leading the investigation, reported that the investigation continued Monday. Although there were no other witnesses to the incident, he and other investigators have been following up with family members and others to determine a possible suspect or motive.

“We’re just trying to get to all the facts,” Nally said. “If it’s something important to the case, we’re tracking it down.”

The detective was able to report that Parrish is recovering from his injuries. He was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, and on Monday was alert and talking.

Nally spoke briefly to Parrish, but said that not much concrete can be gleaned, as the victim remains medicated.

“He hasn’t been able to speak to us at length,” Nally said.

For now, detectives will monitor his recovery and continue to follow up on any lead they can.

“It’s ongoing,” Nally said.
