County Jail

Fifteen people were recently booked into the Putnam County Jail.

Friday

• At 12:48 p.m., Hanna L. Jones, 32, of Brazil, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

• At 2 p.m., Daniel P. McDonald, 27, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., was booked into the jail on charges of possession of marijuana and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

• At 3:03 p.m., Charles R. Sage, 53, of Brazil, was lodged at the jail on charges of theft and official misconduct.

• At 4:10 p.m., Johnathan E. Turner, 30, Reelsville, was booked into the jail on charges of possession of stolen property.

• At 4:24 p.m., Armin E. Lopez, 37, of Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on charges of driving while suspended.

• At 5:12 p.m., Bradley O. Colon, 33, of Indianapolis, was booked into the jail on a warrant.

• At 6:11 p.m., Matthew C. LeCleir, 24, of Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on charge of sexual battery.

• At 6:38 p.m., Adam A. Edwards, 27, of Indianapolis, was booked into the jail on a local warrant.

Saturday

• At 4:14 a.m., Alyson R. Bettis, 25, of Coatsville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 5:28 a.m., Hailey J. Wright, 25, of Greencastle, was booked into the jail on charge of operating while intoxicated.

• At 12:56 p.m., Kevin S. Daniels, 48, of Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 5:12 p.m., H. Tom Tomlinson, 39, of Fillmore, was booked into the jail on a warrant.

• At 5:35 p.m., Chelsi M. Benassi, 22, of Fillmore, was lodged at the jail on two local warrants.

• At 10:20 p.m., Brian M. Freese, 44, of Indianapolis, was booked into the jail on charges of criminal mischief and operating while intoxicated.

Sunday

• At 10:13 a.m., Daniel J. Moore, 28, of Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on charge of carrying a handgun without a license.

City Police

A pair of recent traffic accidents, both reportedly involving vehicles with failing brakes, were investigated by Greencastle City Police.

• At 4:53 p.m. Friday, a three-vehicle accident occurred on Bloomington Street near East Walnut as Katlin Alexander, 22, Coatesville, was northbound on Bloomington Street, driving a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. Her brakes reportedly failed as she prepared to stop for traffic ahead of her.

Alexander’s car struck a stopped 2003 Pontiac Montana, driven by Kimberly Mattox, 58, Brazil, pushing it into a stopped 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Robin Cameron, 54, Coatesville.

Officer Nick Eastham estimated total damage at $10,000-$25,000.

The airbags deployed on Alexander’s car, resulting in pain to her head and back. She was transported to Putnam County Hospital.

• At 1:37 p.m. Oct. 16, a two-vehicle mishap occurred at Washington and Wood streets as the brakes on a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Camellia Kitchen, 19, Whiteland, failed and she was unable to stop in time to avoid striking a 2010 Subaru driven by Wendy Tomamichael, 41, Greencastle.

Both vehicles were eastbound on Washington street at the time of the accident.

Officer Kyle Lee estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated three recent property-damage crashes.

• At 3:15 p.m. on Saturday Laren C. Livesay, 56, Bainbridge, was eastbound on U.S. 36 preparing to turn right onto County Road 600 East in a 2013 Ford Flex.

As Livesay was slowing, her car was rear-ended by a 2016 Toyota Scion driven by Patricia A. Correll, 56, Greenwood.

Correll’s vehicle was towed. Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 7:48 p.m. on Friday, Kimberly K. Gilbert, 52, Terre Haute, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2009 Chevrolet Impala when he hit a deer.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 6:43 p.m. on Friday, Austin Seaers, 24, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 445 West in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.

Seaers told Deputy Soilleux that an upper ball joint broke, causing the right front wheel to separate from the truck.

The pickup was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
