Alex Krominaker is a senior soccer player at North Putnam.

Banner Graphic: How long have you played soccer, and how did you get involved in it?

Alex Krominaker: “I’ve played soccer about my whole life, and I started playing at a rec league at Big Walnut Park for a long time. Then I went to play travel, and then in high school. I like playing with my teammates. They have good attitudes, and it’s fun to be around them.”

BG: This year your North Putnam team didn’t win a lot of matches. Was it still fun?

AK: “Yeah. I had fun working with all the players. As one of the seniors, I helped out the younger guys.”

BG: Your dad was your head coach this fall. Was that a good arrangement?

AK: “Yeah. He treated me the same as all the other players, and he wanted me to work harder and be the captain.”

BG: What plans do you have for after high school?

AK: “I plan to go to college, hopefully at IUPUI, for accounting.”

BG: Your dad is a CPA. Did he influence you go to into that field?

AK: “I’m interested in the career itself, because I like numbers.”

BG: What do you do when you’re not at school or playing soccer?

AK: “I like to go outside and do random things, work on equipment and do outdoor things. I like to listen to country music, and I like comedy TV shows and movies.”

BG: What other school clubs or activities are you in besides soccer?

AK: “I am in the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society through the Area 30 Career Center.”

BG: What is your normal day like?

AK: “I have classes in the morning at North Putnam, and I work in the afternoons at J&N Feed Supply. I bag the feed, and I help the customers carry it out to their cars.”

BG: What is something you have never done before that you would like to do someday?

AK: “I would like to go on a trip to Alaska to see the outdoors. I’d like to go in the summer, though, so it’s not as cold.”

BG: Do you have any pets?

AK: “We have three mixed breed dogs. They are outside dogs. They follow me around when I’m doing work outside.”

BG: What are your favorite and least favorite foods?

AK: “My favorite would be steak, and my least favorite is asparagus.”

BG: Do you see yourself coming back to Putnam County when you’re older, or do you plan to live elsewhere?

AK: “I’d like to live around Greencastle or out in the country. I like it here.”

BG: Describe your North Putnam school experience.

AK: “I really like North Putnam with athletics. The coaches push you to do your best. With academics, the teachers also push you to do your best and they help you with whatever you need. Mrs. [Kristy] Lippencott, my math teacher, has really done a lot. She’s a really good teacher.”

BG: Do you have any specific goals in mind for the rest of the school year?

AK: “I want to keep getting good grades for the rest of the year, and get a higher GPA.)
