Minnie Frances Seward Michki

Minnie Frances (Wells) Seward Michki, 94, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.

Minnie was born on Dec. 13, 1922 in Greencastle to Herbert Oscar Wells and Estella Clara (Miller) Wells.

She lived most of her life in Parke County in the Bellmore area and later in the Marshall area before moving to Frankfort in November 2005 to be closer to her daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings, John Wells, Lucille Black, Elmer Wells, Opal Mann, Albert Wells, Eldon Wells, Olma Cox, Kenneth Alan Wells and Olus Hutcheson (she was the youngest of the 10 children); her first husband, Wm. Everett Seward (1917-62), whom she married on May 18, 1941, and her second husband William Michki (1927-87), whom she married on June 21, 1975.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Sharon (Seward) O'Hair and husband Michael of Kokomo, and Karon (Seward) McColley and husband Ronald of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Scott (Amy) O'Hair of Ellettsville, Tiffany (Samuel) Parr of Russiaville, Rush (Mendi) McColley of West Lafayette, and Ginger (Chris) Batta of West Lafayette; nine great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Madison Parr, Kelsey and Haley O'Hair, Allison and Mallori McColley, and Carter and twins, Caroline and Cooper Batta.

Minnie graduated from Greencastle High School in 1940.

She helped Everett on their farm, worked at the Parke County Auditor's Office and retired from Parke County REMC in 1982.

She was a member of Otterbein UM Church, Bellmore, before attending St. Matthew UM Church in Frankfort.

A memorial may be made in Minnie's name to Wesley Manor in Frankfort.

The funeral will be on Friday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at Gooch Funeral Home in Rockville. Visitation will be between 9-11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Memory Garden in Rockville.

Rev. Ray Probasco, a close family friend of Sharon and Michael, will officiate at the funeral.
