Darrell E. Williams
Darrell E. Williams, 69, of Brazil, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1948 in Clay County, the son of Herman and Mildred Schopmeyer Williams.
He graduated from Van Buren High School, Class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1975-79.
On Oct. 3, 1975, Darrell and Donna Floyd Williams were united in marriage. Together they have raised their family and foster children in Clay County.
Darrell has been a truck driver all his working years. He was an owner/operator for many years, and later worked for ADS Trucking for 18 years prior to retiring. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Donna Williams; children Tim Williams and wife Andrea, daughter Lorie Morton and husband Tom all of Brazil, Levi Williams of Centerpoint, Thomas Floyd of Brazil and John Floyd of Attica; grandchildren Coan, Lexie and Marley Williams, Lacey Snider (Jay), Brandi Schutter, Kylie, Alyzabeth and Sarah Morton, Cassandra Floyd and Justin Floyd; one sister, Sharlene Shillings (Lyle) of Brazil; brother Larry Williams (Frances) of Quincy; sisters-in-law, Diana Nuckols (Gary) of Brazil and Gemmie Floyd of Carbon; brothers-in-law, Thomas Floyd (Karen) of Brazil, and Randy Floyd of Carbon; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Williams, Herman Williams and stepmother Edith Williams; brother-in-law Tim "Doc" Floyd and Glen Floyd; nephew Timothy Wayne Floyd.
At his direction, cremation will take place with burial of his ashes at a later date.
The family requests that no flowers be sent and donations be made in his honor to the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department.
