Banner Graphic/ERIC BERNSEE A $4,500 check, representing the proceeds from the 2017 Putnam County FOP 5K run and golf scramble events, is presented by Greencastle City Police Officer Darrel Bunten (fourth from right) to Cynthia Winzenread, president of the Indiana COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) organization, in a recent ceremony at the Greencastle Police Department. Fellow FOP members on hand for the presentation are (from left) Jerrod Baugh, Ed Wilson, Luke Brown, Eric Vaughan, Nick Eastham, GPD Chief Tom Sutherlin and Josh Smith. Winzenread, who lost her State Trooper husband Andrew to a 1997 accident as he was assisting a motorist along Interstate 74, said COPS will be using the funds to assist people like the Allan family, who recently lost their husband/father in police-action sitaution, to attend the upcoming officers memorial in Washington, D.C., at zero cost to the family.
