Cloverdale FFA sets annual seed auction for Dec. 4

Thursday, November 23, 2017

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale FFA Chapter will host its annual Seed Auction on Monday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafetorium.

The FFA has received donations from several seed companies and local businesses for this year’s auction.

The auction will be offering lots of various amounts and various products so that producers can sample as many products as you like.

Companies have donated corn, soybeans, alfalfa, grass seed, cover crops and sweet corn for farmers to purchase. The FFA auction also will have vouchers for premiums toward harvest sales to POET. When purchasing seed from the FFA Seed Auction not only will you be supporting the Cloverdale FFA but the FFA will send buyers a letter including the tax information for Cloverdale Community Schools so that the purchase can be recorded as a charitable donation.

Annually the Cloverdale FFA and Cloverdale FFA Alumni work hard to raise the money it takes to make FFA a rewarding experience for Cloverdale High School students. The Cloverdale FFA offers its members many opportunities for personal growth, career success and building of their leadership skills.

Beyond taking members to camps, conventions and career development events, this year the Cloverdale FFA is not requiring its members to pay for any dues or activities. The Cloverdale FFA wants every student to have the opportunities of the FFA regardless of their family’s financial status and they will need community help to make this happen.

By purchasing some seed at the FFA Seed Auction, you will aid the Cloverdale FFA in defraying the many costs associated with running a top-notch FFA Chapter.

On Dec. 4 once a farmer purchases a product they will be directly connected with the seed company representative or business to acquire the product when the time arrives that they are ready to plant.
