Betty Louise Hiles Waldron

Betty Louise Hiles Waldron, 79, of Blanchester, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at her home.

Born April 24, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Helen Keethler Hiles.

Betty worked at DePauw University, first in the Roy O. West Library and then in the Registrar's Office. She was elected as Madison Township trustee assessor in 1994.

Betty served as Greencastle president and district director of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women, Putnam County Republican Party chair, precinct committeeman, and president of the Putnam County Republican Women's Club.

She was president of the Putnam County Art League, treasurer of the Council for the Arts, president of the Board of Realtors, and a member of the Parish Council.

Betty held licenses as both an insurance and real estate agent.

She is survived by daughters Cathleen Waldron Genato (Francisco), Cheryl Waldron Musgrave (Robert), Laura Waldron Stephenson (David) and Patricia Waldron; sisters Jean Dunn, Alice Packer and Donna Adams; grandchildren Christina Matthews, Paul Musgrave, Margaret Musgrave, Jason Alexander, Jimmy Alexander, Joe Alexander, John Alexander and Sean Waldron; and great-grandchildren Jaike Matthews, Megan Matthews, Caiden Matthews, Shianna Alexander, Shannon Alexander, Zach Atkinson, Ricky Atkinson, Samantha Alexander, Savannah Alexander, Brittany Pyles, Justin Pyles, Desmond Pyles, Abigail Alexander, Emily Alexander and Maddie Alexander. In addition to her parents, son Richard and grandson Craig Matthews preceded her in death.

Private graveside services were held.
