Karen Sue Tucker, 70, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.

She was born Jan. 23, 1947 in Lafayette, the daughter of James M. and Wilma R. (Rohler) Hockema.

She was a graduate of Petersburg High School. Karen had also attended the University of Evansville.

Karen had retired from IPS, where she had worked as a traffic manager at CIRT, the Center for Instructional Radio and Television.

She was a member of the Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Benedict F. Tucker II; her children, Tami L. (Michael Wade) McGuire and Lee Kiger and fiancée Beth; stepchildren, Mark Tucker and significant other, Kim, and Amy (Joe) Dixon; grandchildren Payne Stewart, Sadie Stewart, Michael (Heidi) Tucker, Megan (Andrew) Harris and Sammy Dixon; and great-grandchildren Ezekiel Buechler, Mylan, Jamis and Luca Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ron Hockema.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the funeral home.
