Santa coming for breakfast in Poland

Friday, December 8, 2017

POLAND -- Santa Claus is coming to town Saturday, Dec. 16 at Cook’s Corner in Poland to talk to good boys and girls about their Christmas lists.

The Poland Community Lions Club will be hosting the jolly old elf and his many fans that morning with breakfast of all-you-can-eat pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy and scrambled eggs. Drinks provided will be orange juice, milk, hot tea and coffee.

The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. until noon.

Children 12 and under will eat free. Children 13-17 may partake for $7. Adults will be charged $10. All food will be served buffet style.

Proceeds from the special event will be used to help with maintenance and improvements to the local park.

The Lions Club has made the park its project since the club’s inception in June 2008. The project has required more money this past year since a storm destroyed the south end of the shelterhouse, which has been restored thanks to a community effort and some grants.

Santa will give his little friends a book, stocking and photo to commemorate their visit with him.

A silent auction also will be going on during the event. Items offered will have a holiday theme.
