Julian Leon Stout

Julian Leon Stout, 89, of Roachdale, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

He was born on April 18, 1928 in Crawfordsville to Merle Lee and Hazel (Joslin) Stout.

Julian graduated from Crawfordsville High School. He served in the United States Navy.

Julian worked for Inland Container Corp. in Crawfordsville until retiring in 1993.

Julian's lifelong hobby was photography. He enjoyed developing and printing his own black and white pictures. He would always have his camera in hand, taking pictures of family members. A favorite photo opportunity would be anything in the beautiful outdoors. He took many pictures of people and activities in and around Russellville, North Putnam, Crawfordsville and Roachdale and DePauw University in Greencastle.

He enjoyed traveling and visiting family in Colorado and Texas. He especially liked finding and exploring old ghost towns in Colorado.

He was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church, Roachdale Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis.

Julian was married to Maxine Lyons Stout. She survives.

Other survivors are a sister, Norma Jean Sillery, New Market; stepdaughter Cynthia (Greg) Demmon, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; stepdaughter-in-law Mary Ann Goff, Durango, Colo.; grandchildren Tara Demmon, Parker, Colo.; Brady Demmon, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Tiffany (Matt) Don Moyer, Orlando, Fla.; Nathan (Diana) Goff and Derek (Alianna) Goff; great-grandchildren William and Mary Goff, all of Houston, Texas; nephew Kevin Sillery and niece Glenda Fetch, both of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Royce; sister Maxine Shultz and stepson Stephen Goff.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St., Roachdale. He will be laid to rest in Hebron Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
