City Police

Two recent property-damage accidents on the city’s East Side were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:24 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, a two-vehicle mishap was reported at State Road 240 and 10th Street.

Sgt. Ed Wilson reported that Leylan Creed, 50, Brazil, was westbound on State Road 240, driving a 2004 Chevrolet truck owned by Furniture AwareHouse, when a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Franklin Marshall, 50, Indianapolis, reportedly entered the roadway from 10th Street after stopping at the stopsign.

Marshall told Sgt. Wilson he thought the intersection was a four-way stop and pulled his truck into the path of the Creed-driven vehicle.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 1:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, a two-vehicle accident was reported in front of Taco Bell at Indianapolis Road and 10th Street.

Sgt. Wilson reported that Dillon Thompson, 19, Poland, had stopped in westbound traffic to turn into Taco Bell when his 1997 Chevrolet Blazer was struck from behind by a 2008 GMC Envoy, driven by Lisa Taylor, 53, Greencastle, who did not see that Thompson had stopped in time to avoid a collision.

Total damage was listed at $2,500-$5,000.
