Christmas Cheer

Courtesy photo/TONY MUNDELL Homeowner Terry Grice (left) accepts a platter of cookies presented in appreciation of Grice’s beautiful Christmas lights which are across West Poplar Street from Asbury Towers Retirement Home where so many residents, including Pat Aikman (right), have enjoyed the lights on the roof, porch and lawn of the home of Grice, his wife their six children. The cookie tray contains many of the favorites of the Towers’ star baker, Lady Lilliana, formerly of Kosovo. After a motion by John Baughman, president of the Towers Residents’ Council, encouraging residents to express gratitude to the family for their light display, Asbury residents voted to send them a batch of the cookies and pastries Asbury’s baker turns out each day for Towers’ occupants. Grice told Asbury Executive Director Tony Mundell that if he thought this year’s display was attractive,”just wait until next year.” In the meantime, Aikman and Mundell said the creative lighting design was a great reminder of what this season is all about and added, “we thank the Grices so much for their hard work, expense and shared creativity.”
