Russellville Town Council approves 2018 salaries, wages

RUSSELLVILLE -- The Russellville Town Council set 2018 salaries and wages at its recent regular meeting.

According to Ordinance 2017-8, the salaries and wages will be as follows:

-- Council members (President Cary McGaughey, Jim Davis and Cathy Jones): $1,690 per year

-- Clerk-Treasurer (Martha Mandleco): $13,284

-- Deputy Clerk Treasurer: $10 per hour, not to exceed 300 hours during the calendar year

-- Town Marshal (Matt Biggs): $9,000

-- Deputy Town Marshal: $22.50 per hour, not to exceed 18 hours per month

-- Water Utility employees: $4,800

-- Street superintendents (Pat Clahan, John Boller): $4,800

-- Occasional labor: $10 per hour

The council also approved re-appointing Stu Weliever as town attorney at $150 per hour.

In other news:

-- Snow: In answer to a question from Clahan, the council said that two or three inches of snow is deep enough for plowing. The council also approved allowing him to drive the snow truck to his house should a large snowfall come overnight.

-- Town claims: The council approved claims at a total of $20,898.47.

-- Water board claims: The water board council approved claims at a total of $20,602.09.

-- Water loss: Troy Elless of UMAC reported that town water loss has fallen to 11 percent, which within an “acceptable” range. President McGaughey commented that the amount had been steadily decreasing.

The Russellville Town Council and Russellville Water Board’s next regular meeting is set for Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Russellville Town Hall at 211 S. Harrison St., Russellville.
