Ellis took evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision but lost control and ran off the north side of the highway.

She said she believed the vehicle rolled at least once before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

The semi did not stop.

A man in a Ryder truck stopped to assist Ellis prior to the arrival of Soilleux and fellow Deputy Riley Houghton.
