Tuesday

Clay City (11-6) at Cloverdale (12-2)

NOTE: Some schedules had incorrectly indicated this game was to be played on Jan. 1.

The coaches: Chris Ames is in his 10th year at Clay City. Matthew Langdon is in his seventh year at Cloverdale.

Season recap: The Eels started their season 6-1 before losing three straight games. They have gone 4-2 since then. Cloverdale has won four straight games and eight of its last nine.

Per-game averages: Offense — CC 51.3, Cloverdale 61.7. Defense — CC 43.2, Cloverdale 35.6

Opponents’ records: CC 114-141, Cloverdale 82-131.

History: Clay City won 39-33 at Cloverdale last year and has won 12 of the last 16 meetings.

Key players: Tori Combs leads the Clovers with 16.0 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. Sammie Shrum adds 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds, while Abby Walker adds 11.5 points per game. St. Mary-of-the-Woods signee Avalee Jeffers leads the Eels in scoring and rebounding.

South Putnam (10-4) at Shakamak (2-13)

The coaches: Brian Gardner is in his third year at South Putnam. Kris Landry is in his second year at Shakamak.

Season recap: Shakamak won its first two games of the year over West Vigo and Washington Catholic and has lost 13 straight. South Putnam started the season 6-1, lost three out of four games and won two games last week to win the Monrovia Tourney.

Per-game averages: Offense — SP 53.8, Shakamak 36.1. Defense — SP 45.3, Shakamak 61.7.

Opponents’ records: South Putnam 116-98, Shakamak 105-105.

History: South Putnam won 57-26 last year and has won the last six meetings between the teams.

Terre Haute South (8-8) at Greencastle (9-5)

The coaches: Richie Adderly is in his second year at Terre Haute South. Bradley Key is in his ninth year at Greencastle.

Season recap: The Braves won their last two games in the Niehaus Classic at Vincennes to even their record at .500 Greencastle lost its first three games, won its next nine and lost its last two games before the break.

Per-game averages: Offense — THS 46.3, GHS 44.9. Defense — THS 47.6, GHS 42.4

Opponents’ records: Terre Haute South 116-115, Greencastle 111-100.

History: South won 54-48 in overtime last year in Terre Haute, and has won the last two meetings.

Key players: Division I prospect Amani Brown of South has missed the season due to an ACL injury. Trevecca Nazarene (Division II) signee Taylor Pepperworth leads South in scoring at 17.8 points per game. Jalyn Duff (12.3) and Rose White (10.5) lead the Cubs in scoring.
