Applications available for Hendricks Power scholarships

AVON -- Hendricks Power Cooperative is continuing its Commitment to Community Scholarship program in 2018. The co-op will be awarding six scholarships, worth $1,500 each, toward college tuition or a school of higher education for graduating seniors.

Applicants must be a son, daughter or legal ward of a member of Hendricks Power, must have a career GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and must be enrolled in an accredited college or vocational/technical school.

In addition to completing the application form, students are asked to submit an essay that focuses on “What does it mean to be a ‘member’ of an electric cooperative? What are the benefits of belonging to an electric cooperative?”

Applicants also need to obtain a personal letter of reference and official grade transcripts. This information is detailed in the application packet.
