Girls' crossover games set; boys' pairings mostly unclear

Thursday, January 18, 2018

Greencastle will play at Owen Valley on Friday night in the Western Indiana Conference girls' basketball championship.

South Putnam will play at either Cascade or Cloverdale for fifth place, depending upon the outcome of tonight's Cloverdale-Cascade game. The Cloverdale-Cascade loser will host Sullivan for seventh place.

North Putnam will play at Edgewood for ninth place.

The West Division has completed its round-robin schedule, and the boys' pairings will be decided by a pair of Cascade games over the next few days.

Edgewood has finished league play and sits at 4-1 to lead the East Division. Cloverdale and Indian Creek are both 3-1, and both play Cascade (2-1).

Greencastle finished second in the WIC West and will host the East Division runnerup on Jan. 26. Cloverdale will play a road game against an undetermined opponent.

North Putnam finished fourth in the West and will host the East Division fourth-place team, while South Putnam finished fifth in the West and will host Owen Valley.
