Two recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 11:18 a.m. Monday, a two-vehicle mishap was reported near the intersection of Fifth Street and Avenue E on the city’s East Side.

Lauren Glass, 30, Greencastle, was westbound on Avenue E, driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada, when she observed a 2004 Chrsyler Sebring being backed out of a driveway by William Russell, 64, Greencastle.

Wallace told Officer Darrel Bunten that he did not see the Frost car because of the glare of the sun.

Damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Bunten was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Ed Wilson and Officer Josh Smith.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 5:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Lisa C. Hunsicker, 48, Poland, was stoped eastbound on State Road 42 at U.S. 231 in a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Hunsicker told Deputy Scott Ducker she thought it was her turn and and attempted to turn northbound onto U.S. 231.

Robert C. Woodall, 53, Roachdale, was southbound approaching the intersection in a 2007 International tractor-trailer. Traffic on 231 does not have to stopp at the intersection and Woodall could not avoid a T-bone collision when Hunsicker pulled out in front of him.

Hunsicker was initially pinned in her vehicle and later had to be transported from the scene by Operation Life.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $25,001-$50,000.

Deputy Brian Helmer assisted at the scene.

• At 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Nicholas A. Garver, 36, Coatesville, was backing into a driveway on Lexington Drive, Heritage Lake, in a 2017 GMC 1500 truck registered to U-Haul.

Peyton J. Myers, 17, Fillmore, was westbound on Lexington Drive in a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. He told Reserve Deputy Mark Jack he noticed the U-Haul but when he braked he lost control on snow and ice, hitting the front driver’s side bumper of the U-Haul.
