100 Women Who Care group seeking new members

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

The Steering Committee of Putnam County’s chapter of 100 Women Who Care announced that it was actively recruiting women to kick off its fifth year of giving.

“In four years 100 Women have given $159,200 to 17 Putnam County charities. By joining together, our donations combine to make a big impact on our local community,” Julie Thompson, who chairs the Steering Committee, said.

The first meeting of 2018 is scheduled for Feb. 7 at the Inn at DePauw. Social hour and registration begin at 5 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6.

Thompson said that it is philanthropy that drives 100 Women Who Care. The group comes together to socialize, network, become educated about the good works going on in the community and give.

“If you are a woman looking for a simple way to make a difference, then this group is for you,” Thompson said. “Please join us.”

The 100 Women Who Care members meet four times each year for a one-hour meeting. The 2018 meeting schedule is Feb. 7, May 2, Aug. 1 and Nov. 7.

The total commitment for the year is $500 with $50 paying for the events; $50 building the 100 Women Who Care Endowment, and $100 is donated to each of the four charities chosen at the meetings throughout 2018.

Women aged 30 and under may join for $250. Women whose spouses are members of 100 Plus Men of Putnam County may join for $450.

Women may join via cash, check, credit card or ACH withdrawals. Checks may be made payable to the Putnam County Community Foundation with 100 Women on the memo line, and mailed to 2 S. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135. Credit card payment can be made online at www.pcfoundation.org.
