City Police

One alcohol-related arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers early Tuesday morning.

• At 1:35 a.m. Joshua Lady, 23, Greencastle, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Under portable breathalyzer testing, Lady registered a .223 percent blood-alcohol content and was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Officer Alec Pettit stopped Lady, who was southbound on Wood Street.

In addition to the OWI charge, Lady was ticketed for disregarding a stopsign at Tennessee and Wood streets, an infraction of driving with a suspended license and operating with an expired license plate (Dec. 23, 2017).

Three additional citations were issued recently by city officers.

• At 11:17 p.m. Saturday, Michelle Paul, 45, Greencastle, was issued a pair of citations by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Stopped and Washington and Jackson streets, Paul was ticketed for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for having a false or fictitious license plate.

• At 10:55 p.m. Friday, Jonathan Trout, 20, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Charles Inman.

Stopped on College Avenue near Olive Street, Trout was cited for having an inoperable tail light.

Sheriff’s Department

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department recently responded to one property-damage accident.

• At 7:41 a.m. Monday, Steven A. Ford, 47, of Gosport, was northbound on U.S. 231 and attempting to turn west onto Interstate 70 in a 2008 Audi A3 when he failed to yield the right-of-way to Clayton A. Mayner, 16, of Cloverdale, who driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado.

Ford said he thought Mayner’s turn signal was on and he was turning. Both vehicles went into the ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Operation Life checked Ford for side pain, but he refused transportation to a hospital. There were no injuries.

Deputy Brian Helmer estimated damage at $25,000-$50,000.

Both vehicles were towed to Little Point by Curtis Garage and Wrecker Services of Stilesville.
