BOYS

Brown County (2-14) at Greencastle (11-5)

Varsity tipoff: 1:30 p.m.

The coaches: Chuck Hutchins is in his fourth year at Brown County. Bryce Rector is in his second year at Greencastle.

Season recap: Greencastle has won eight of its last nine games. Brown County’s only two wins have come against Loogootee and Bethesda Christian, and the Eagles have lost eight straight games.

Opponents’ records: BC 148-99, Greencastle 129-113.

Per-game averages: Offense – BC 42.2, Greencastle 52.0. Defense – BC 57.3, Greencastle 51.1.

The history: Greencastle won 42-40 in Nashville last year. The Eagles hold a 10-6 record in the series over the past 30 years.

Key players: Greencastle is led by Colin York with 20.8 points per game. Gavin Bollman adds 11.8 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, while Brody Whitaker adds 10.0 points per game.

Cloverdale (13-4) at No. 8 Danville (11-4)

Varsity tipoff: 1:30 p.m.

The coaches: Patrick Rady is in his third year at Cloverdale. Brian Barber is in his 19th year at Danville.

Season recap: Cloverdale has won its last six games and 13 of its last 15. Danville has won four of its last five games after Thursday’s win over Frankfort.

Opponents’ records: Cloverdale 142-134, Daville 124-98.

Per-game averages: Offense – Cloverdale 67.3 (36th in state), Danville 68.8 (23rd best in state). Defense – Cloverdale 60.1, Danville 50.4.

The history: Danville won 79-76 at Cloverdale last year and has won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the teams. The last Cloverdale win was a 55-52 victory on its homecourt on Jan. 12, 1999.

Key players: Jalen Moore of Cloverdale leads the state in scoring at 38.5 points per game and is the 38th-leading scorer in state history. Jake Wilkes adds 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Alec Burton, who will play college football at Ohio University, leads the Warriors in scoring (18.2) and rebounding (10.1). Connor Jones adds 12.5 points per game.

North Putnam (5-11) at South Vermillion (11-7)

Game notes: The game is not being played at South Vermillion High School, but at the Community Recreation Center in Clinton. The street address is 301 Blackman St. JV tipoff is 1 p.m. and varsity tipoff at about 2:30 p.m.

The coaches: Collin McCartt is in his fourth year at North Putnam. Shawn Nevill is in his first year at South Vermillion.

Season recap: North Putnam has lost its last four games.South Vermillion has won three straight games.

Opponents’ records: North Putnam 132-130, South Vermillion 72-100.

Per-game averages: Offense – NP 52.3, SV 51.2. Defense – NP 59.4, SV 50.7.

The history: South Vermillion won 60-54 at Bainbridge last year, and has a 6-4 lead in the series over the past 30 years.

Key players: Elliot Gross leads North Putnam in scoring at 16.0 points per game. Andrew Pickel adds 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, while Caleb Duncan adds 10.6 points per game. Junior guard Bryce McLeish and 6-10 senior center Braden Kalber lead the Wildcats.

GIRLS

Greencastle (16-8) vs. Benton Central (20-6)

Tipoff: 7 p.m.

The coaches: Bradley Key is in his ninth year at Greencastle. David Baxter is in his eighth year at Benton Central.

Season recap: Greencastle has won four straight games and six of its last seven. Benton Central has won three straight games. Its losses have come to Kankakee Valley, Lafayette Jeff, Watseka (Ill.), Bismarck-Henning (Ill.), Northwestern and Lafayette Harrison.

Per-game averages: Offense — Greencastle 47.1, BC 48.6. Defense — Greencastle 41.9, BC 35.2.

Last sectional title: Greencastle 2013, BC 2016.

Key players: Rose White leads Greencastle with 10.6 points per game, while Jalyn Duff adds 10.5. Emma Fisher leads Benton Central in scoring with 16.6 points per game, while Kelsey Coffman adds 8.9 ppg.

South Putnam (18-5) at Cascade (12-12)

Media coverage: WREB-FM 94.3 will broadcast the game.

The coaches: Brian Gardner is in his third year at South Putnam. David Carpenter is in his third year at Cascade.

Season recap: South Putnam has won four straight games and 10 of their last 11. Cascade has won three straight games, after losing the three games previous to that.

Per-game averages: Offense — SP 57.2, Cascade . Defense — SP 45.0, Cascade .

Last sectional title: South Putnam 2017, Cascade 2007.

History: The teams have split a pair of games this season, both at Cascade. Cascade won 55-52 on Dec. 16, and South Putnam won 49-41 in the WIC crossover round.
