Candidates who want to appear on the primary election ballot have until noon on Friday to file their paperwork.

At that point, the Democrat and Republican slates for the May 8 primary will be set.

Check out www.bannergraphic.com on Friday afternoon or the Saturday print edition of the Banner Graphic for the final list of candidates in local and state races.

Locally, there had been no changes to county races as of Wednesday. However, new candidates have added their names to some other local races.

In Floyd Township, Democrat Tom Chiarella has filed to run for township trustee. Incumbent Marsha Carrington is currently filed to run as a Republican.

A pair of other trustees face challenges from within the GOP. Jerrett Query is running for Jefferson Township trustee against incumbent Debra Robinson, while Pat McFadden will face off in the primary against current Cloverdale Township Trustee Dale Monnett.

In the race for the at-large position on the Cloverdale Town Council, Gregory A. Jay Sr. has filed to run against incumbent Coweta Patton in the GOP primary.

Local candidates may file their packets with the Putnam County Voter Registration Office on the courthouse second floor until noon Friday.
