County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

• At 4:10 a.m. Robert Corey Frietzsche, 30, Quincy, was lodged at the jail on a Jennings County warrant for failure to comply with home detention in a burglary case.

Monday

• At 11:43 p.m. William Walter Knight Jr., 44, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for domestic battery.

• At 7:17 p.m. Adrian Boyd Fisher, 27, Fillmore, was booked in for violation of home detention.

• At 6:47 p.m. Stephen Eugene Seketa, 38, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 4:33 p.m. Thomas Lee Gorham Sr., 37, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for public intoxication and on a local warrant.

City Police

Three recent accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 9:14 p.m. Friday, a minor two-car mishap was reported at Indianapolis Road and Warren Drive.

Todd Stoltey, 46, Greencastle, was stopped westbound on Indianapolis Road, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. Stopped behind him at the stoplight was a 2014 Ford Taurus, driven by Jeremiah Jackson, 30, Coatesville.

Jackson told Officer Luke Brown his foot either slipped off the brake pedal or his car accidentally eased forward into the rear of the Stoltey car.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 8:11 p.m. Thursday, a two-car accident occurred on U.S. 231 South near Primrose Lane.

Angeline Martin, 24, Mooresville, was reportedly southbound on 231, driving a 2001 Mercury Sable, when she looked down at the dashboard as her check-engine light came on. In the meantime, a 2001 Ford Focus, driven by Hannah Miller, 18, Greencastle, had stopped in front of Martin to turn left onto Primrose Lane and a collision occurred.

Officer Alec Pettit estimated total damage at $1,000-$2,500.

Martin was transported by ambulance to Putnam County Hospital with unspecified minor injuries.

• At 12:15 p.m. Feb. 13, a one-vehicle accident was reported on South Jackson Street near the Phoenix Closures plant.

Sgt. Ed Wilson reported that unbeknownst to Mohammad Almallah, 33, Orland Park, Ill., his 2007 Volvo semi struck a storm drain, rupturing the vehicle’s oil pan. With the engine empty of oil, it shut down and came to a stop behind the nearby bowling alley.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Two recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

• At 10:27 p.m. Friday, Koji Fujikura, 39, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Brown.

Fujikura was cited for disregarding a stopsign at Vine and Washington streets.

• At 12:02 a.m. Feb. 13, Ngun Zing, 33, Indianapolis, was ticketed for speeding by Officer Brown.

Stopped at Veterans Memorial Highway and Tennessee Street, Zing was cited for 55 mph in a 40-mph zone.
