John R. Choate

John R. Choate, 79, of Danville, passed Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Danville Regional Health in Danville.

John's wishes were to be cremated.

John was born April 6, 1938 in Birdseye, Ind., a son of Gabriel and Bessie (Wright) Choate.

He later moved to Indianapolis and married Marilyn Crawley of Cloverdale in 1965. They resided in Cloverdale, raising their family until Marilyn's death in 2003.

John had been a carpenter for many construction companies in Indiana.

He was a member of the Greencastle Moose Lodge 1592.

Survivors include his two sons, Jason and John Choate; two daughters, Mary Jean Melendez and Linda Willoughby; one stepson, William "Andy" Bee; one stepdaughter, Lori Purcell; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
