Local Holy Week Services

Russellville Community Church

The Russellville Community Church will feature special services to celebrate Holy Week beginning Palm Sunday, March 25, with a pitch-in at 5 p.m. and service at 6 p.m.

Andrea Davies will be providing the music and Pastor Alan Small will deliver the message.

The Wednesday night service is at 7 p.m. with Kevin Swaim doing the music and Guy Studebaker performing the service. Refreshments will be provided after the service.

Thursday is Maundy Thursday. Pastor Small will provide the message. A drama titled “Table for Two” will be presented.

Good Friday Service is March 30. There will be a Good Friday Service with Pastor Small and youth presenting, “Stations of the Cross.”

Saturday, March 30 at noon will be an Easter bake sale at the Russellville Community Center, so all are invited to get their homemade goodies for Easter dinner.

At 1 p.m. Saturday at the center will be the annual Easter egg hunt, which is sponsored by the church. Come see the Easter Bunny and get some surprises. Immediately following the egg hunt will be roller skating in the Russellville Community Center Gym. The cost to roller skate is $3. Refreshments will be available to purchase. Roller skating ends at 4:30 p.m.

Easter Sunday will begin with sunrise service at 8 a.m. with breakfast to follow.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. followed by Easter worship service at 10:30. All are invited to come celebrate the Lord and worship.

Greencastle Presbyterian Church

The Greencastle community is invited to join Greencastle Presbyteran Church for services on Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30.

The church will celebrate with a Christian Seder meal at 6 p.m. on Thursday as they remember and celebrate God’s saving ways throughout the history of God’s people and as fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Enriched and guided by the Passover and deliverance of Israel out of Egypt, this evening offers a chance to “taste and see” the goodness of God.

It is an opportunity for children, families and people of diverse faith traditions.

The meal is open to all in the community. Anyone interested is asked to contact the church office at 653-5713 by March 26 to make reservations .

Seating is limited—attendance by reservation only.

On the heels of this, Good Friday service is set for noon-3 p.m. on Friday, March 30.

The sanctuary will be open for quiet time. A slide show about the last words of Christ will be showing so you might experience the depth of God’s love for us.

Wellspring Christian Church

Wellspring Christian Church invites the public to share in Good Friday and Easter services at the church.

Good Friday services will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 30.

Easter celebration will begin with sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 1. A pitch-in sunrise breakfast will follow.

Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m.

Wellspring Christian Church is located at the intersection of U.S. 40 and Belle Union Road (725 East), east of Mt. Meridian on south side of U.S. 40.
