Easter egg hunt at park begins at noon Saturday; five others on tap locally

The annual Greencastle Park and Recreation Department Easter egg hunt at Robe-Ann Park, which was snowed out last Saturday, has been rescheduled for this Saturday, March 31, beginning at noon.

It is one of at least six local egg hunts on tap Saturday.

The free egg hunt at the park will feature 7,000 eggs up for grabs in five age groups for youngsters age 1-11.

Meanwhile, Saturday will be a big day at Roachdale with the Roachdale VFW Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event set for 8-10 a.m. at Roachdale VFW building and the Roachdale egg hunt at 1 p.m. at the elementary school. The latter event is sponsored by the Roachdale VFW and the Roachdale in ACTION group.

At Russellville, the Russellville Community Center will be the site of the annual Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Russellville Community Church, beginning promptly at 1 p.m.

At Putnamville, the annual Easter egg hunt at Putnamville United Methodist Church will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday on the church grounds (inside if it rains). The hunt will be for toddlers and children through sixth grade.

Putnamville United Methodist Church is located at the intersection of U.S. 40 and State Road 243.

Also, Fillmore United Methodist Church will host an Easter egg hunt for toddlers through early teens on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. Fillmore UMC is located at 221 S. Main St., Fillmore.

Mill Pond Health Campus on Mill Pond Lane in Greencastle will also have an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at 11 a.m.
