Easter Baskets Project

Thursday, March 29, 2018
Girl Scout troops 1734 and 3700 partnered this year with 4-H Jolly Juniors Club to assemble 120 Easter baskets for Putnam County families in need. The troops and club also collaborated with the Putnam County Division of Child Services, Emergency Food Pantry and Beyond Homeless to distribute the baskets to local families. This is the second year these Girl Scout troops have completed this project and they plan to continue to do it in years to come. The troops/club used approximately $500 of their own funds to purchase items in addition to collecting donations through City Hall, Dollar General, Fillmore Elementary and Central Elementary, which equaled 770 boxes of cookies sold between these two troops to fund this year’s project. The girls would like to thank their supporters, including Putnam County Girl Scouts, New Hope Fellowship and Big Walnut churches for their donation of candy and toys. They will accept non-perishable donations year round so as items are clearanced after holidays, supporters are encouraged to bring any of those donated purchases to Brooke Taylor at Greencastle City Hall. Helping with the project (from bottom left to upper right) are Aliza Arnold, Adalynn Brinkman, Kendal Stahl, Addison Cook, Emalyn Tomaw, Marcella Free, Nalah Strange, Joslyn Bumgardner, Sydney Taylor, Bentley Patterson, Madison Stahl, Bailey Williams, Holly Patterson, Darcy Stahl and Brooke Taylor.
