U.S. Senate candidate Messer to visit Putnam County Saturday

U.S. Senate candidate Luke Messer will host a grassroots meet-and-greet session Saturday morning, April 7 in Putnam County.

The candidate’s visit is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. at the Fairway Family Restaurant on U.S. 231 (1280 N. Jackson St.), just north of Greencastle.

Messer is one of three Republican primary candidates for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Joe Donnelly. Messer is on the GOP primary ballot along with fellow Senate hopefuls Todd Rokita and Mike Braun.

The 49-year-old Messer has represented Indiana’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013.

A Wabash College and Vanderbilt Law School graduate, Messer served in the Indiana General Assembly from 2003 until 2006, representing Shelby and Bartholomew counties.
