Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of recent property-damage crashes.

• At 3:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Kyle Willig, 33, West Terre Haute, was westbound on Interstate 70 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

Willig told Deputy Tanner Brown he was in the left lane when a semi next to him started crossing into his lane. He did not want to get hit, so he turned left.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 6:09 a.m. on Tuesday, Trenton A. Lucas, 28, Cloverdale, was northbound on U.S. 231, approaching the stoplight at County Road 900 South in a 2006 Ford Escape.

Lucas told Deputy Matt Biggs the light changed to red and he slowed and came to a stop. He said his vehicle was then struck from behind.

Jamie L. Delp, 48, Cloverdale, was also northbound in a 2003 Dodge Neon. She told Biggs that when the light changed, she tried to reduce her speed but the car skidded on the wet pavement and she could not stop in time to avoid the collision.
