Clifton Wayne Priest Jr.

Clifton Wayne Priest Jr., 71, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Mill Pond Health Campus.

He was born Nov. 28, 1946 in Greencastle.

Wayne graduated from Fillmore High School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Army the same year. He served as a staff sergeant.

He was a past commander at American Legion Post 341 in Cicero and Post 58 in Greencastle and served on the Honor Guard of both posts. He was also a member of VFW Post 1550.

He was known as a jokester and storyteller.

Wayne retired from IAC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.W. Priest Sr. and Marcia Priest.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Priest; two daughters, Donna (James) Sage and Dawn (Scott) Anderson; four grandchildren, Kyle Priest, April (Alex) Evans, Todd (Gillian) Cain and Caitlyn Anderson; and three great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Hazel Evans and one on the way.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Forest Hill Cemetery with an Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m. at VFW Post, Greencastle.
