CLOVERDALE -- A free trip to Washington, D.C., does not come along every day, but for two Cloverdale students, it has become a reality.

Through its association with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), Endeavor Communications sponsors two students each year to attend the FRS Youth Tour, scheduled for June 2-6 this year.

The 2018 winners are Joeli Hamilton and Lauren Branneman, both of Cloverdale High School, who will join nearly 100 other students from across the country at the FRS Youth Tour.

The youth tour participants receive a first-hand glimpse at how the legislative and regulatory decisions made in Washington, D.C., affect how their local service providers operate in their own hometowns. The trip features a comprehensive overview of the communications industry and the critical role communications plays in rural America.

In addition to the educational component, the Youth Tour also introduces students to various historical landmarks.

To qualify, the student’s parents must be a member of Endeavor Communications, and the student must be age 16 or 17 years old at the time of the Youth Tour. Applications and information regarding the youth tour can be found on the website www.weEndeavor.com or by checking with high school guidance counselors.
