Clifford 'Cliff' Eugene Tincher Sr.

Clifford "Cliff" Eugene Tincher Sr., 83, of Greencastle, passed away at his home Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

He was born May 29, 1934 in a Mount Meridian farmhouse, the last of six sons born to Edith Lucille (Lisby) and Wilfred Opal Tincher.

He married Hallie Laverne (Woodall) Tincher on Dec. 4, 1950.

Cliff farmed for many years before driving a semi for Stilesville Implement for 10 years. In 1991 he and his sons started Tincher Construction, which incorporated in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Hallie Laverne Tincher; five sons, Clifford "Bud" Eugene Tincher (Grace), James "Jim" Wilfred Tincher (Khadija), Arthur "Art" Ray Tincher, Marvin Thomas "Tom" Tincher (Debbie), and Michael "Mike" Allen Tincher (Arlene); 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Cliff enjoyed woodworking and made gifts and furniture for friends and family.

Warm evenings were spent on the front porch watching the hummingbirds feed. Known as "Pappy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he took pride in teaching them the things he knew and supporting them in their endeavors.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Lawrence Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

A reception for family and friends will follow the funeral services and burial at 4106 W. Co. Rd. 125 South, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 20 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home.
