Local property tax statements mailed

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Putnam County property tax statements have been mailed, Treasurer Kathy Minnick has announced.

Property owners throughout the county should be on the lookout for the pink envelopes containing the 2017 payable 2018 statements.

The spring installment is due Thursday, May 10 and the fall installment is due Tuesday, Nov. 13.

For anyone who does not receive their bill, a duplicate can be requested by contacting the Putnam County Treasurer’s Office via phone 653-4510 or treasurer@putnamcountyin.us.

Failure to receive a statement will not relieve property owners of paying taxes and/or penalties that may be due.

Taxes may be paid at any of the following banks located in Putnam County: First Financial, First National, Old National, North Salem State or Tri-County.

Tax statements must be taken to the bank in order to pay at one of these locations. Additionally, the banks will not accept a payment after the due date.

Taxes may also be paid online at http://www.co.putnam.in.us/Treasurer/, over the phone, at the Putnam County Treasurer’s Office or by mail to P.O. Box 508, Greencastle, IN 46135. To ensure a penalty is not added, the envelope must be postmarked on or before the due date.

The Putnam County Treasurer’s Office will accept cash, check, money order, credit cards or debit cards.
