Mindfulness conference set Thursday, May 31

Monday, April 23, 2018

We are living in a high-velocity world where “multi-tasking” is expected and “balance” is the prize, yet the two don’t seem to work well in tandem. Instead of letting your life pass you by — or just drag you along — how might you be more mindful of both your purpose and your current experience in the moment, more often?

The Purdue Extension Area V Health and Human Sciences Educators have planned the Health and Human Science Lesson Conference to explore the topic of mindfulness. This conference will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Keynote speaker Mark Sturgell will help you explore and understand:

• What is mindfulness?

• What is the practical value of mindfulness?

• Discover and learn to apply The Formula for Well-Being

• Consider the value of your values

• Learn what it means to live at The Intersection of Purpose and Now

Mark Sturgell is a certified coach, facilitator, and a speaker who loves helping business grow by helping business people do what they must, to become who they want, to get where they really want to go. He has over twenty-five years of experience in this area, and has served as a corporate trainer and in development organization.

In addition to Sturgell’s keynote address, four breakout sessions will be offered on various topics including Mindful Eating, Money Mindfulness, Stress and Self Care, and continuing the conversation of living at the Intersection of Purpose and Now. All conference presenters are experts in the field, and look forward to sharing their knowledge with all of you. For this conference works well as professional development, continuing education, leisure time, or however you find it applicable.

Agency personnel, community volunteers and members of the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association are invited to attend the multi-county conference at Ivy Tech Community College, 8000 S Education Drive in Terre Haute. Registration will begin at 10:30 AM in Community Room #E102 in the Isaac Building, located on the south end of the main building complex.

The cost to attend the May 31 conference is $10 per person and price includes all handouts and materials, and hearing from many experts in the field.
