Coweta Patton

CLOVERDALE — After two terms on the Cloverdale Town Council, current council president Coweta Patton will be out at year’s end.

Garnering 45 percent of the vote in a three-way race, Gregory Jay Sr. topped Patton 111-83 for the GOP nomination for the town’s at-large seat on Tuesday. Jake Day was third with 52 votes.

Incumbent Cindy Holland was unopposed in the Third Ward and will be on the November ballot as a Republican.

No Democrats or independents have yet filed for either position.

The county’s remaining positions, including clerk-treasurer and the other three council spots, will not be on the ballot until municipal elections in 2019.

  • Now this is interesting. We the people have spoken and it says the current leaders shall go. and it also says you (Greg Jay) who has never been to a council meeting will be new blood. History to repeat itself in Cloverdale? Can't wait to see how this turns out. Thank you Don Gedert and Thank you for the Food and Beverage Tax.

If you see Don make sure you show your appreciation and thank him from the bottom of your pockets. hopefully they will fill up with more cash

  • Good riddance! Now if we can only terminate the blatant nepotism of the Clerk-Treasurer......
