Quilt Auction Winner

Thursday, May 24, 2018
The highest bidder on a quilt created by students in the Greencastle Middle School Life Skills class taught by Beth Williams came to claim his prize as Putnam Superior Court Judge Denny Bridges (left) was the winning bidder at $175. After receiving the quilt -- said to be reflective of the GMS Tiger Cub spirit -- Judge Bridges gifted it to eighth-grader Damien Sabin, who was surprised and pleased, as was his mother. The second quilt (twin-sized) will be auctioned off in the fall. Fifty percent of the auction proceeds go to the program to keep its charity work going, while the other half will go to the NICU Unit at Riley Hospital for Children. The Life Skills class spent several hours from the start of school through February creating the quilts.
