North Putnam superintendent contract up for discussion Monday

Thursday, May 31, 2018

BAINBRIDGE — The North Putnam School Board will meet in special session on Monday, June 4 for discussion a proposed contract for a new superintendent.

A new superintendent will not be named during the meeting, School Board President Ron Spencer confirmed.

Instead, the 7 p.m. meeting is simply for public comments on the proposed contract for the new superintendent, which includes $115,000 in base salary.

Full details of the contract have run twice as legal notices in the Banner Graphic, on both May 23 and 30.

The school board began its search for a new superintendent in January after Dan Noel announced he was not renewing his contract.

In early May, Noel accepted the superintendent’s position at Shakamak in Greene County.

School board members are hopeful that a new superintendent will be named later in June.

The meeting will take place at the North Putnam Adminsitrative Office, 300 N. Washington St., Bainbridge.

  • If some members of that school board didn't think they have to micromanage everything it would probably be a lot easier to get someone to take the job. The word does get out.

  • Read with caution; this seems to imply that the current Superintendent resigned?! There is ample reason to believe that he did not!
