ParkFest set to begin 25th season

Thursday, May 31, 2018

Even as the new Robe-Ann Park Bandshell remains under construction, the Greencastle Civic League has been busy planning the 25th season of ParkFest.

The free, family-friendly summer concerts will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning June 5.

The new bandshell in Robe-Ann Park is the product of tireless dedication as well as donations from organizations such as Friends of the Park, the Greencastle Civic League and the Putnam County Convention and Visitor Bureau, along with many local residents and businesses that are helping sponsor this milestone season. With a design inspired by local covered bridges and a Hoosier limestone backdrop, the new bandshell could provide entertainers with something to sing about and celebrate later this season.

Until construction is completed later this summer, ParkFest will take place in Bowman Park, just north of the Green Center for the Performing Arts at DePauw University.

The Greencastle Civic League will keep concert-goers informed with weekly announcements of the lineup of ParkFest performers as well as a notice of when the concert series will move from Bowman Park to the new bandshell in Robe-Ann Park.

  • With all the warm weather we have had, it's a shame the bandshell isn't done in time.
