Library to conduct 4-H Genealogy Boot Camp effort

Friday, June 1, 2018

The Putnam County Public Library will be conducting a Genealogy Boot Camp for 4-H members interested in becoming family historians.

Led by PCPL Genealogist Diana Brumfield, the two-session class will be held on Mondays, June 4 and June 25 in the Local History and Genealogy Department of the library, located at 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

The class will focus on how and where to find documents that prove your lineage. The group will also learn how to organize the pictures and information you discover using the ahnentafel numbering system required by 4-H.

Those interested in joining should bring a notebook and pencil, plastic page protectors, a three-ring binder, and your basic pedigree information to start the search. This class is free, but there will be a 10 cent-per-page charge for printing.
