Flag Day ceremony at Legion Thursday evening

Greencastle American Legion Post 58 will celebrate Flag Day with a variety of activities on Thursday, June 14 at the post on Indianapolis Road.

The Legion and VFW Honor Guard will conduct a 21-gun salute and a Flag Day flag-burning disposal ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at the burn pit outside the Legion Post main entrance at 1401 E. Indianapolis Rd. The ceremony is open to the public.

Uniformed police, fire and ambulance service representatives also have been invited to attend. Military personnel and anyone else who comes in uniform will receive a free dinner, Legion officials said.

The post is serving a chicken dinner for $8 per person beginning at 5 p.m.
