Colorful CARR Characters

Monday, June 11, 2018
The annual CARR (Camo America Rainbow Run) 5K is its colorful self again Saturday as more than 100 runners and walkers turn out to honor the memory of Keith Carr, late son of Julie and Mark Carr of Greencastle and brother of race organizer Makenzie Carr.

Following a colorful charge to start the race at Deer Meadow Primary School in Greencastle, Gordy Aiken (left photo) of Westfield emerges as the overall winner, finishing in a time of 20:17 as he crosses the finish line in front of volunteers Kim Brattain and Julie Carr.

Among the many costumed entrants taking part, Carter Brown runs the 5K as a flag-carrying, tutu-wearing quasi-Uncle Sam. Second and third places overall belong to Drew Brattain and Justin Long, respectively, while Mackenzie Carr was the top female runner. All proceeds go to the A Kinetic Change effort for future projects to benefit the community.
