The Purdue Club of Putnam County will host its 20th annual golf outing on Wednesday at Tiger Pointe Country Club (formerly Windy Hill) in Greencastle.

The outing will be in memory of Ron Price, longtime North Putnam teacher and coach who founded the scramble in 1999. Special prizes will be awarded to honor Price.

Several Purdue guests will be in attendance for golf and the dinner following, including Leroy Keyes, named “Purdue’s All-Time Greatest Player,” a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, and NFL player with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Also attending will be Bob Ford; director of the Purdue President’s Council, Purdue Sports broadcaster for many years, and a member of the Indiana High School and Purdue University basketball Halls of Fame; and Calvin Williams, Purdue Associate Athletic Director, Boilermaker football player 1986-1989, MVP his senior year and NFL 7-season player for the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens.

Registration for the scramble will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30 and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

Following golf, a 7 p.m. dinner at Autumn Glen will feature the club’s scholarship recipients and the Purdue guests.

Cost of the dinner is $20 per person, while cost of the golf is $50 per person or $200 per team. Reservations should be made by June 22 with Carrington.

Gold hole sponsorships are available for $100 and Black hole sponsorships for $50.

All proceeds from the golf outing are used to support the Purdue Club’s scholarship fund at the Putnam County Community Foundation.
