Putting his skills from the construction equipment operator program to use, Area 30 student Matthew Sims assists five-year-old Caleb Stattner of Greencastle in the operation of a Caterpillar backhoe. The chance to actually operate a piece of equipment was just one opportunity kids had Saturday at the Touch-a-Truck event in the Greencastle High School parking lot. The event also offered motorcycle rides, remote-control cars or the chance to climb on or in vehicles as varied as race cars, a semi, emergency vehicles, a school bus, tractors and even a limousine. The annual event is a fundraiser for Imagination Library of Putnam County.
