SPORTS BRIEFS: North Putnam football blood drive set for Thursday

Monday, June 25, 2018

North Putnam will have a blood drive on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. in the high school gym in conjunction with the Indianapolis Colts Challenge.

“We are at a critically low level of blood in our state, and a holiday weekend is approaching,” North Putnam head coach Sam Carnes said. “Please come out and help save lives.”

Carnes noted the blood drive is the summer service project for his program, and players will get points for their off-season contest for recruiting donors.

The Cougars will be having a team scrimmage at 5:30 p.m.

“Hundreds of people are counting on us,” Carnes said. “Roll up your sleeves on Thursday!”

Greencastle and Cloverdale had similar events last week, and South Putnam will have its drive next month during the Putnam County Fair.
