Share the Dream Spotlight: North Putnam Dollars for Scholars

This summer, 25 different charitable organizations, scholarships and endowments are participating in the Putnam County Community Foundation Share the Dream program. The fundraising program offers proportionally awarded grant prizes to participants who receive at least 10 donations of $25 or more between May 1 and Aug. 31. Each of the 25 organizations will be highlighted in this series.

The North Putnam Dollars for Scholars – A. Dylan Hess #14Strong Memorial Scholarship is growing stronger every day.

The current focus of this fund is to actively Share the Dream by raising $5,000, which will create success in the initial goal of $25,000 when the fund began in August 2017.

The mission of this endowment fund is to provide scholarships to graduating North Putnam seniors. The long-term goal and vision is to have the ability to grant multiple scholarships and have continued growth for years to come.

Dylan was a talented athlete and proudly represented North Putnam Cougars since 2004. Football was home to a rock-solid foundation of commitment, basketball ignited skills for a constant change in pace and track was motivation to finish strong in all attempts of life.

Through Dylan’s dedication of being the world’s best brother and trusted teammate, he easily became a friend now remembered fondly to the entire community of Putnam County.

Passion, determination, philanthropy and dreams are the reasons why someone would want to give to this endowment. Dylan expressed life through his passion and determination on and off the playing field. Since his death, he continues to express life through the lives he has saved. Dylan was an organ and tissue donor, which showed his heart of philanthropy.

This scholarship was started, so that others may reach their dreams after high school and beyond.
